Unlike most gnomes, Elly spent her youth in the forest. She loved nature from an early age and spent her days travelling the woods, familiarizing herself with the plants and animals that shared her home. She made many friends, including a lone wolf cub she named Fang.
One particular day, as Elly and Fang were taking a stroll along the forest, they encountered a fearsome orc named Bobo. Elly did not fear the orc. Instead, she befriended him and the trio started travelling together. Over time, Bobo made a habbit of carrying Ellie on his shoulder as they walked, something Fang quickly turned jelaous of. The wolf, evidently smarter than the orc, refused to walk and thus Bobo started carrying both.
With Ellie on his shoulder and the wolf under his arm, they were a sight to behold. They travelled the Tatterwood forest and were eventually drawn to Southpass keep, where a battle between humans and the drow was in full swing. With little regard to his own safety, the orc, a champion of good, charged to help the humans. Elly and Fang followed their friend and won the battle, but at great cost. Fang had taken a mortal blow.
In a fit of anger, Elly blamed her friend. It was then that the unthinkable happened. The drow had returned in incredible numbers. In manner of a true hero, Bobo stood alone against the incoming horde as he the humans dragged Elly away into the tunnels below.
By the time they left the tunnels they could still hear the battle raging above. Bobo was standing tall against impossible numbers but Elly was now a different gnome. Vowing to never speak against a friend again, she befriended a new wolf, naming him Bobo Jr. and together they set path to Underhay village.
